Cocoa & Oatmeal No-bake Treats
- 3 cups quick-cooking rolled oats
- 2/3 cup peanut butter
- 1/2 cup chopped nuts (optional)
- 2 cups sugar
- 1/2 cup (1 stick) butter or margarine
- 1/2 cup milk
- 1/3 cup cocoa
- 2 tsp vanilla extract
- Line cookie sheet with wax paper or foil.
- Measure oats, peanut butter and nuts; set aside.
- Combine sugar, butter, milk and cocoa in medium saucepan.
- Cook over medium heat, stirring constantly, until mixture comes to a rolling boil.
- Remove from heat.
- Add oats, peanut butter, nuts and vanilla. Stir quickly, mixing well.
- Immediately drop mixture by heaping teaspoon onto wax paper.
- Let cool. Store in a cool dry place.
Makes about 4 dozen.
