Something that makes me happy: Learning that someone who really wants to be pregnant finally is. They are always so happy. It’s a feeling akin to a baby giggle, you can’t help but feel a little happier for hearing it.
Something i am struggling with: A disappointing end to our Morganton weekend. We were nearly unstoppable the entire first day in the qualifying Swiss event. Trounced the opponents in the semifinals. But in the finals nothing came together for us.
Something i learned: Doubling 5♦ and giving up the overberry (twice in one day!) never gains IMPs.
Something from the bridge table: I wrote up two fun bridge hands from BBO play last week. Perhaps i’ll also write up some of the cool hands from the weekend when i get a chance. We’ve played a LOT of bridge in the last two weeks.
Some things i am doing towards my goals: We tried to repeat last year’s GNT run, but failed!
Something i am reading: Sarah’s Key by Tatiana de Rosnay. About WWII. Horrifying.
Something happening around the house: All work around the house is done and we have our kitchen and living room back. Unfortunately it’s all still a mess.
Something i am thinking: Is this country more partisan than it was, say 50 years ago? It feels like now, politics is more about “my way is the right way” and less about compromising, but it may just be that it’s always been like that.
Something i am looking forward to: A facial at the Umstead Spa this weekend. Although this time i may skip the part that i call “the gouging” that they do toward the end.
Something random: Third episode of Game of Thrones is tonight!
Something planned: Girls night out – our book club is going to see Water for Elephants. Superb book, which i read about two years ago.
Something captured: Hanging out in the treetops during our zipline adventure in Morganton. The helmets seemed like overkill to me, but i was thankful i had it when the guide dropped a carribbeaner on my head.

I agree with Ann and Kerry. Also i’m chuckling at the fact that the living room and kitchen are still messy, but now you don’t have painting to blame it on. Whelp, it was nice having a scape goat for a time…

Hey Nathan, Lighten up a little. The painting may be done, but it takes a while to put everything back into shape and where it needs to go!!
