Sunday Somethings, 13Mar11

Others writing the Sunday Somethings: Kerry

Something that makes me happy: Sitting outside on my back porch reading in perfect 75 degree weather on a Sunday afternoon.  In March.

Something i am struggling with: So much to do, so little time.

Something tasty: Reese’s Peanut Butter Eggs.

Something i learned: I learned just how fast i could run a 5K.

Some things i am doing towards my goals: I’m tapering for my half marathon which is this coming Sunday.

Something i am reading: The Wise Man’s Fear, by Patrick Rothfuss

Something happening around the house: Lots of little home improvements are going on this week.  I can’t divulge it all because i want most of it to remain a surprise for Lance who is at Spring Training this week and doesn’t know what i’m up to.

Something i am thinking: Plays within plays, stories within stories… i am aware that this is a literary tool, but it’s always annoyed me in the past when i run across it.  However i’m noticing that a lot of my favorite authors use it.  And Shakespeare used it.  Maybe there is more to it than i understand.

Something i am looking forward to: A few more days of having the house to myself.  (Sorry Lance.)

Something i am hoping: That Lance has a good time and then comes home safe without getting hit in the eye by a foul ball.

Something random: My parents are in Alaska.  Or are nearly there.

Something planned: Swing dance lessons.

Something captured: This cartoon cracked me up.  In honor of Pi Day (3.14):

You need to try Trader Joe’s peanut butter eggs… OMG, they are amazing! They put the Reese’s ones to shame. Where are you taking swing dance lessons?

  4. Frith says:

Swing dancing lessons sound fun! I never took a lesson, but I went a couple of times in college and had a great time. Granted, I had a very strong partner, so all I really had to do was stay in rhythm and spin a lot. :-) Good luck!
