Others writing the Sunday Somethings: Kerry

Something that makes me happy: A hot bath.

Something i struggled with: Wireless networking.  Nathan brought his Mac computer into my PC household and couldn’t connect to our network.  He said a friend had once needed to “add his MAC address” to the router.  So we tried that.  The result was that i locked all the computers off the network.  So then we had to reset the router.  Except ghost settings were still remaining or something, because i still couldn’t get it to work.  Finally just threw money at the problem and bought a new router, and things are working again.  Every time i have to deal with it, i relearn how much i hate wireless networking.

Something tasty: Kerry and i had our annual Christmas date and ate at Sitti, a Mediterranean restaurant downtown.  I had beef kabobs, and they were excellent.

Something i learned: No matter how obscure, always look for items on Amazon before ordering from somewhere else.  It will be equal price or cheaper, and chances are free shipping will be available too.

Some things i am doing towards my goals: Still getting the runs in, though i’m sure it will be harder next week when schedules are thrown off.

Something i am reading: Just finished The Hero of Ages by Brandon Sanderson.  Not sure what’s next.

Something happening around the house: Nugent is still skittish and barking at everything.  Nathan & Heather were just here for the weekend, and i think that he’s still on edge.

Something i am thinking: I have a few blog posts brewing but haven’t found time/motivation to spit them out.

Something i am looking forward to: Christmas!

Something random: One of my car’s headlights is burned out.

Something planned: A trip to Asheville to spend Christmas with my family.

again, apologies that my Mac infected your network. my thoughts are that your router, upon seeing the glories that mac has to offer but knowing that in a PC household it would never again get to experience the easy clean world of communicating with a Mac, decided it is just easier to commit “routercide” and end it all.

we had a great time with you guys. Heather even wants to buy Donkey Kong for the Wii.
