Something that made me happy this week: Hanging out on the porch/deck with family and telling stories and talking.

Something i struggled with this week: Giving blood and drinking a beer within 90 minutes of each other leads to fainting on the bathroom floor of a restaurant, at least if you’re me.  I owe a lot of thanks to the waitresses who brought me water and waited with me until i could stand up again.

Something tasty i ate this week: Some sort of Mexican enchilada lasagna that Carol made today.  Yum.

Something i learned this week: I learned more about wireless networking, as once again one of the computers was acting up.  This time, it was a DNS issue.

Something from the bridge table: No stories this week.

Some things i am doing towards my goals: I gave blood, as i hope to do continually my whole life.

Something i am reading: Kushiel’s Scion by Jacqueline Carey.  I brought quite a few books with me on vacation, and i bet i will get to several this week.

Something happening around the house: The vacation house has a hot tub, and we just tried it out.  It was the perfect thing to end what has been a breezy beach evening, and i can feel my eyelids drooping.  Sleep will come soon.

Something i am thinking: I don’t like the concept that we don’t have free will, that everything is determined.  I can’t say that i have done a whole lot of research here, but i find the idea that we don’t have any control over what we do depressing.

Something i am looking forward to next week: The beach.  Being buried in the sand.  Reading.  Just… vacation.

Something i am hoping: For sunny skies this week.

Something random: I love rereading those favorite books i’ve already read.  They’re like old friends, coming to visit after a long, cold winter.

Something captured: Lance and his Buckeye Mobile.  OSU played their first game against Navy on Saturday.  Here starts 3 months of football.
