The Wild Parrots of Telegraph Hill

his was a Netflix recommendation. My friend Netflix figured i would like this movie because of the other types of documentaries i have rated highly.

They were right.

It was pretty neat. The story focuses on a bum (?) who befriends one of the flocks of parrots. (I call him a bum simply because he didn’t really have a home or a job and never paid for anything, but he was a nice, friendly, intellectual type guy.) He feeds them sunflower seeds, and they trust him and just swarm around him. He takes care of the injured ones and nurses them back to health.

We meet several of the parrots with distinctive personalities. It’s so neat to see the one parrot who shakes the branch he is standing on when he is excited. And the other parrot who dances when the guitar is played. And the one who is a peace-maker instead of a trouble-maker. Cool stuff.

Very interesting; i’d definitely recommend it.
